Iskanderkul is an astounding mountain lake of glacial origin located in northern Tajikistan. The lake is turquoise colored and the snow-capped mountains in the background give it a very picturesque view. Legend states that the lake takes its name from Alexander the Great: Iskander is the Persian pronunciation of Alexander, while kul means lake in Tajik. Iskanderkul and its surrounding area have been designated as a nature reserve.
This magnet is a present from Farrukh, my dear friend from Tajikistan 🙂
