58. Rooster of Barcelos, Portugal
The Rooster of Barcelos (Galo de Barcelos in Portuguese) is a very popular emblem of Portugal. It’s based on a legend that revolves around a dead rooster that crows to prove an accused man’s innocence. There are different versions of this story. The Rooster of Barcelos is always vividly colored, and is said to embody the Portuguese love of life.
This magnet is a present from my dear Japanese friend Moyuko when she went to Portugal on vacation ❤
