51. Mexico: Piñata

51-pinata-mexico
In this cute scene, a group of little kids is about to strike a colorful piñata. Worldwide, piñatas are strongly identified with Mexican culture and its most popular shape is shown here: a star with seven points, each one representing the seven deadly sins. Piñatas are very popular during the traditional Christmas posadas in Mexico (from December 16 to 24th) and are also used for birthday parties. Once broken, the piñata releases all its contents, mainly candy and/or toys.
This magnet is a present from my former roommate Igmar from Mexico 🙂
